Bread pudding is a traditional dessert that has accompanied many families in Latin America, especially in Argentina and Venezuela. Originally, it was a way to use up stale bread to avoid waste, transforming it into a delicious snack.
Ingredients:
- 6 slices of bread (preferably from the day before)
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cup of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
- 1/4 cup of raisins (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Preparation:
- Soak the bread in the milk for a few minutes, until it softens.
- Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla essence.
- Add the soaked bread and mix well.
- Incorporate the raisins and cinnamon.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes or until golden and firm to the touch. Serve warm or cold
