How to Use Essential Oils as Perfume

We’ve already given you some application tips on how to use essential oils as perfume, including applying them topically or placing them on pulse points. Now, we’re sharing a few expert tricks to help the scent last longer on your skin:

Start by blending your essential oils with a carrier oil, such as coconut, jojoba, or sweet almond oil. The ratio should be half a bottle of carrier oil to one bottle of your favourite essential oil.

Once the oils are mixed thoroughly, store the blend in a sterilised dark glass bottle with a fine spray nozzle. You can keep it refrigerated for up to two months.

Apply the mixture to your wrists, neck, and behind your elbows and knees on clean, moisturised skin, especially after showering for better absorption.

For a more intense fragrance, apply a little to your hair and clothes.

Recommended Essential Oils:

  • Jasmine oil
  • Lavender oil
  • Ylang-Ylang oil
  • Castile rose oil
  • Neroli oil

Using essential oils as perfume not only offers a natural alternative to synthetic fragrances but also provides aromatherapy benefits, making it a versatile and luxurious addition to your routine.
