Carrot Cake

Carrot cake is a delicious dessert that combines the natural sweetness of carrots with a soft and fluffy texture. This dessert originated in Europe during World War II when sugar was scarce, and carrots were an excellent substitute.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of grated carrots
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of walnuts (optional)

Preparation:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Beat the eggs with the sugar and oil.
  • Add the grated carrots, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and walnuts.

  • Mix well until you have a smooth batter.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased pan and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Serve cold.
