A comforting classic with caramelized apples and a crunchy base. Perfect to serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Ingredients:
- 2 large apples
- 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry or tart dough
- 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 egg for brushing
- Powdered sugar for decoration
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Peel and thinly slice the apples. Mix with the sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll out the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the apples in the center and fold the edges inward, leaving the center open.
- Brush the edges with beaten egg and place small pieces of butter on top of the apples.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the dough is golden.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
