World Recipe: Jollof Rice

Jollof Rice is a traditional dish from West Africa. It is believed to have originated in the ancient Wolof culture and is now a symbol of Ghanaian cuisine.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

  • Sauté the onion and garlic in oil.
  • Add the paste and tomatoes, and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add the rice and mix well.
  • Pour in the broth and seasonings, and cook until the rice is tender.
