Clean Your Hairbrush Properly

Clean Your Hairbrush Properly

Cleaning a hairbrush regularly is essential for maintaining hygiene and the effectiveness of your hair care routine. Here are some methods for cleaning different types of brushes, from plastic to wooden ones:

Plastic Brushes:

  1. Remove accumulated dead hair from the brush using a comb or a stick to reach deeper bristles.
  2. Soak the brush in warm water with a shampoo mixture for 20 to 30 minutes, keeping the bristles down to allow the water to penetrate well.
  3. Rinse the brush and dry it with a towel before letting it air dry completely.

Brushes with Baking Soda:

  1. Mix half a cup of vinegar with half a cup of warm water and baking soda in a container.
  2. Soak the brushes in this mixture following the same process as with the water and shampoo mixture.
  3. Rinse and dry the brushes with a towel or a clean cloth.

Wooden Brushes:

  1. Avoid soaking wooden brushes as water can damage them. Instead, apply a few drops of shampoo and water to the brush and gently scrub it.
  2. Rinse the brush under running water and ensure to completely remove any shampoo residue.
  3. Shake off excess water and thoroughly dry it before using it again.

For a deeper clean, you can use a smaller brush with plastic bristles or a clean mascara brush to scrub between the bristles and remove any built-up residue.

Remember to clean your brushes at least once a week to prevent the accumulation of residue and bacteria that could affect the health of your scalp. With these simple steps, you’ll keep your brushes clean and ready for use, ensuring healthy and radiant hair at all times.
