09 Sep How to Care for Makeup Products
Regular Brush Cleaning: Wash your brushes at least once a month with shampoo and a drop of conditioner. Let them air dry with the bristles facing up. For foundation brushes, consider washing them daily to prevent bacteria buildup that can cause acne.
Proper Storage: Avoid storing products in a poorly ventilated bathroom, as moisture can damage them. Opt for a cool, dry environment to prolong the lifespan of your cosmetics.
Monitor Expiry Dates: All makeup products have an expiration date. It’s important to adhere to it to avoid adverse skin reactions.
Categorize and Close Properly: Organize your makeup by categories (shadows, foundations, eyeliners, etc.) and make sure to tightly close the containers to prevent them from drying out.
Replace Mascara Every 6 Months: Change your mascara every six months to avoid irritations or infections. Clean the brush with a tissue after each application to keep it hygienic.
Freeze Eyeliner Pencils Before Sharpening: Place the eyeliner pencil in the freezer before sharpening to prevent the lead from breaking.
Use a Spatula for Creams: Avoid contaminating your creams by using a spatula to apply them directly onto the skin.
Mind the Temperature of Lipsticks: Store your lipsticks in a separate pouch, away from heat and direct sunlight, to prevent them from spoiling.
Regularly Clean Foundation Sponges: Rinse your foundation sponges with detergent or mild soap and warm water. Let them air dry in the sun to eliminate bacteria.
Keep Storage Space Tidy and Disinfected: Make sure to keep the place where you store your makeup products clean and organized, whether it’s a cabinet or a dresser.
