Rustic Apple Tart

A comforting classic with caramelized apples and a crunchy base. Perfect to serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry or tart dough
  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 egg for brushing
  • Powdered sugar for decoration

Preparation:

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  • Peel and thinly slice the apples. Mix with the sugar and cinnamon.

  • Roll out the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the apples in the center and fold the edges inward, leaving the center open.
  • Brush the edges with beaten egg and place small pieces of butter on top of the apples.

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the dough is golden.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
