Venezuelan Catalinas

Catalinas are traditional cookies from Venezuela, and their name has endured through time. They are ideal for accompanying a cup of coffee and are an essential part of Venezuelan cuisine.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Preparation:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  • Add the egg and melted butter, and knead until you get a smooth dough.
  • Form small balls and place them on a baking tray.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden. Enjoy with a good cup of coffee.
