World Recipe: Turkish Eggs

From Turkey comes a recipe full of flavor and color: Turkish eggs with tomato, perfect as an appetizer or a unique meal that will surprise everyone. This dish combines sautéed vegetables, boiled eggs, and a creamy mixture of milk and flour, topped with melted mozzarella cheese and oregano.

Ingredients:

4 eggs

1 onion

1 red bell pepper

1 green bell pepper

2 medium tomatoes

2 garlic cloves

100 ml milk

30 g flour

200 g shredded mozzarella cheese

Oregano

Salt

Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Chop the onion, peppers, and garlic; slice the tomatoes.
  2. Sauté the garlic and onion in oil, then add the peppers over medium-low heat.
  3. Boil the eggs for 10 minutes once the water starts boiling.
  4. Place the tomato slices over the vegetables and lightly salt them.
  5. In a bowl, whisk one egg with the milk and flour until smooth.
  6. Pour this mixture over the vegetables and tomatoes, then add the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Peel the boiled eggs, cut them in half, and place them on top of the tomatoes. Cover with more cheese and optionally a bit of fried tomato.
  8. Cover the pan and cook until the cheese melts; sprinkle oregano or other herbs to taste before serving.
