Build Your Facial Routine Correctly with These 5 Key Elements

Dermatologists agree: caring for your skin doesn’t mean piling up dozens of products. It’s about understanding what each one does and choosing according to your specific needs. The key is to create a routine that is consistent, simple and effective.

Daily cleansing. This is the essential step. In the morning, a gel cleanser is enough to remove impurities. At night, practise double cleansing: start with an oil-based cleanser or balm to dissolve makeup and sunscreen, then follow with a gel cleanser for a deeper clean.

The right serum. Vitamin C is ideal for the morning. It fights free radicals, stimulates collagen production and boosts radiance. If your skin is acne-prone, very oily or has dark spots, choose formulas with niacinamide to help balance and even out your complexion.

Smart hydration. Use a moisturiser when your skin truly needs it — if it’s dry, if you’re using retinoids, or during colder seasons. Otherwise, you can move straight to sunscreen.

Gradual exfoliation. Introduce an exfoliant slowly, starting twice a week. A scrub-type cleanser can help remove dead skin cells and unclog pores.

Retinoids at night. Retinol or retinal renew the skin, strengthen the barrier, regulate melanin and oil production, and help maintain hydration.
