04 Mar Complete Guide to the Minimalist Style
Minimalist style is based on the idea that less is more. It focuses on simplicity, clean lines, and timeless pieces, prioritising quality over quantity. Far from being boring, well-executed minimalism conveys elegance, balance, and visual harmony.

The colour palette is one of its main pillars. Neutral tones dominate, such as white, black, and grey, along with beige, cream, sand, and camel. Navy blue and soft browns like chocolate or taupe are also included, adding depth without breaking the overall harmony.

When it comes to clothing, a minimalist wardrobe is built around carefully chosen essentials. Plain, well-made T-shirts, simple shirts, straight-leg or wide-leg trousers in neutral shades, jeans without rips or extreme washes, structured blazers, and clean long coats or trench coats are key pieces. These are complemented by plain dresses, simple midi skirts, and fine or medium-knit jumpers with round or high necklines.

Fabrics play a crucial role. Good-quality, heavier cotton provides structure, linen is perfect for warm weather, and quality wool or knitwear elevates any look. Viscose, cupro, or matte satin add movement, while denim is best in medium-weight or rigid fabrics.

Accessories should be subtle and practical. Clean-lined bags, simple belts, delicate jewellery, and understated footwear complete the look.

For styling, follow two simple rules: one statement piece paired with two neutral ones, and a balance of volumes to create a polished, harmonious outfit.
