19 Mar How to choose the best moisturizing hair mask
Choosing the right moisturizing mask is not as simple as it seems. Not all are the same or fulfill the same objectives, so the first step is to identify what your hair needs: more softness, elasticity, frizz control, or recovery after chemical processes. This initial reflection is key to getting it right.

It is important to understand that a moisturizing mask is not a conditioner. It is a deep treatment, designed to rebalance the hair fiber from the inside and not just to improve the superficial appearance. Therefore, it is advisable to opt for formulas specifically designed to deeply hydrate and nourish.

When choosing, there are three essential factors to consider: your hair type (fine, normal, dry, frizzy, colored, or chemically treated), its porosity —since very porous hair loses hydration more quickly— and the balance of the scalp. If the latter is oily, the ideal is to use light textures and avoid the roots.

All hair benefits from using a mask, although not all require the same formula or frequency. Fine hair needs light hydration once a week; normal hair, weekly or every ten days maintenance. Dry, porous, or frizzy hair requires more nourishing formulas up to twice a week. In the case of colored or chemically treated hair, deep hydration two to three times a week during recovery is ideal. Regarding ingredients, vegetable oils, butters, and ceramides are ideal for dry or damaged hair. For fine hair, aloe vera, panthenol, or hyaluronic acid hydrate without adding weight. Colored or treated hair benefits from proteins, amino acids, or keratin to strengthen the hair fiber.
