Most common mistakes when applying makeup in summer

With the arrival of summer, makeup needs to adapt to high temperatures, humidity, and increased sun exposure. However, one of the most frequent mistakes is applying too much product, choosing very dark shades, or overusing shimmer. Many people use darker foundations to achieve a tanned effect, but this tends to harden features, reduce freshness to the face, and create an unnatural contrast between the face and body, in addition to giving an aged appearance.

Another common mistake is neglecting the skin after a day at the beach or pool. It is essential to properly remove traces of salt, sand, and sunscreen with a good facial cleanser. Once clean, the skin must be hydrated with products containing moisturizing active ingredients, capable of reinforcing hydration from within and keeping the skin balanced.

During the summer, the key is to opt for light, non-powdery textures. Powder products can crack or create an unflattering effect when mixed with sunscreen. Excessively shiny finishes or creamy textures that are not water-resistant are also not recommended, as they tend to melt easily and give a neglected appearance.

In summer makeup, less is more. Very dark shadows, thick eyeliners, and heavily loaded mascaras harden the gaze. Instead, subtle touches, like a clear mascara, provide freshness, lightness, and a more natural look.
