Bánh chuối nướng is a traditional dessert from Vietnam. It is a baked banana cake, widely popular in markets and homes, known for its moist texture and its balance between sweetness and creaminess.

Ingredients

  • 6 ripe bananas
  • 60 g sugar
  • 250 g unsalted butter
  • 7 eggs
  • 400 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp salt

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking pan.
  • Mash the bananas into a smooth purée. Beat the butter with the sugar until light and creamy; add the eggs one at a time.
  • Mix in the condensed milk, vanilla, and salt. Fold in the banana purée, then add the sifted flour, mixing until a smooth batter forms.
  • Pour into the pan and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
