05 Nov Hair Loss: How to Care for Your Hair and Scalp
When your hair starts falling out more than usual, it’s normal to want to try any product that promises to strengthen it, add volume, or stimulate growth. There are shampoos, treatments, and formulas on the market containing both natural and chemical ingredients that can help maintain healthy-looking hair. But keep in mind: when there is significant hair loss or a condition such as alopecia, there is no miracle product that can solve the problem on its own.

The first step is to take care of your scalp. Keeping it clean and in good condition is essential, and you can look for formulas suited to your hair type, including volumizing or densifying shampoos with nutrients such as vitamins A, B6, and B8, selenium, and copper. For dry hair, a conditioner or nourishing mask containing butters and oils can be a great ally.

There are also products containing ingredients such as biotin, omega-3, collagen, or onion extract, which are associated with different benefits for the hair and scalp. However, results can vary, and these products do not replace professional evaluation when hair loss is persistent or excessive.

When washing your hair, technique matters too. You can start with a quick first wash to remove oil and buildup, followed by a second wash, gently massaging your scalp in circular motions. Rinse with lukewarm water and avoid water that is too hot.

And one important detail: not all anti-hair-loss shampoos are used in the same way. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding frequency and how long to leave the product on. If you notice sudden hair loss, areas with reduced hair density, or an increase in shedding that persists, it’s best to consult a dermatologist to identify the cause and receive appropriate treatment.
